Hi and welcome to Confidently Katie. I’m Katie and this my family
Confidently Katie is lifestyle and mom blog authored by me. I a mom to a toddler. I have a full time job besides momming and wife-ing, which if you’re a parent you know that sometimes feels like multiple full time jobs. I spend whatever is left of my energy trying to figure out a way to make it socially acceptable to eat tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I live in Salt Lake City in a historic brick building turned rental triplex that I have a very serious love hate relationship with. I’m engaged to a Corey who loves puns and How I Met Your Mother as much as I do and loves me for all my little quirks.
Here you can expect to read about a few things
My Misadventures in Motherhood
I never expected to be a mom so soon in my life. I remember staring down at the third or fourth positive pregnancy test thinking…how am I going to make this one work out? Wouldn’t you know it, a few years a later and I have a perfect little happy toddler who is bossing us around and showing off her independence on a daily basis. Here you’ll find stories about our fun adventures, advice I have found helpful, things I have learned through experience (aka the hard way), and lots of photos of my cute family.
We haven’t exactly done things in a tradition fashion. Corey and I had Clara well before we got engaged. She was almost 18 months when he finally proposed, that being said, we’ve been living like a husband and wife for quite some time now with the title and the fancy certificate to make it legal. You’ll get to read about how Corey and I keep our relationship rock-solid after throwing a baby into the equation so early in our courtship (oops), and how we parent as a team day in and day out.
Is home making even a thing anymore? Anyway, you might read about that here. I’ll be completely honest here, I’m not always the greatest at keeping our home…kept? but I love to cook, make us lunches, and find new projects to make our little rental more homey every day.
Style & Fashion
Just kidding. You will probably never actually read anything about style or fashion here. Unless the incredible functionality of a fanny pack and diaper bag backpack count as style.
Me writing about fitness is basically just a bi-product of becoming a mom. I used to be a size 00 in jeans and now I fit a little snug in an 8. You’ll find posts about my fitness routine, foods, I eat, and how I work my fitness into my mom, pro, and almost-wife life
Last but not least…The name sake of this blog. Confidence. I don’t always have it, but I wish I did. The tag line for this blog is “Going Confidently in Life & Motherhood” and that is truly what I aim for. Every day I work towards being more surefooted when it comes to parenting, more certain about my opinions, and more ready to face the world every single day when I get out of bed.
