This week has been a busy one! The company I work for is undergoing some serious growth and because of that the work week is flying by every. Single. Week. It’s nice to sit down at my computer and slow things down for a second while I blog.
Today I’m sharing 5 on Friday. 5 on Friday posts will vary, but today I’m sharing 5 things about me.
1// I just started doing Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide (BBG).
It’s so hard! I started up a few weeks ago and I fell out of the pattern due to things being so busy at work and with Clara’s first birthday plans, but I’m back at week one and I am dying. It’s amazing though and I definitely plan to share more about it here as I go.
2// I have recently discovered a love for cooking and baking.
I have never hated cooking, but I mostly saw it as a necessity. It wasn’t something I regarded as fun. But recently I’ve been loving putting together a new recipe, putting my own spin on the things I find on Pinterest, and force feeding those concoctions to my family and co-workers. If you follow me on IG (@confidentlykatie) , you probably already know this!
3// I recently became a Dave Ramsey listener…
Ya’ll this is changing my life. Changing my life. I previous read Anna Newel Jones’s book about her Spending Fast and I was pretty motivated then, but Dave Ramsey provides a whole new dimension to money and budgeting. I’m currently working on a zero balance budge for Corey and I. I’d also be happy to share this later, provided I can get my life together.
4// In January I started going to a non-denominational church
Growing up in Utah and being raised mostly LDS, churches like mine were a completely foreign concept to me. Since my family has started going to The Well, I’ve seen remarkable changes in my life and I have been so very blessed by the community I have found there. I’m surprised too. If you’re local to Utah and you’re interested in checking it out, I highly recommend it.
5// I have never obsessed about fall….that is until this year.
For some reason I am dying for it to get cold enough for my boots and scarves. I swear I have never been like this before. I’m a spring and summer kind of girl. To be honest, though, this is a pleasant surprise. It’s great to be looking forward to the seasons ahead.
One of my favorite things to do is find and try new recipes! The more complex the better but simple isn’t bad either lol
Yeah I’m not always looking for complex, but I definitely feel accomplished when I do a complicated recipe and it turns out tasting great!
I love baking too! I enjoy it much more than any other type of cooking. Fall and Winter are a perfect time of year to enjoy this hobby, too. (And I also am a big Fall fan!)
It’s so much fun. I always like trying something new and seeing how good it turns out 🙂
I think fall is the best time for cooking and baking – so many good recipes out there!
It really is! And when the oven is on and it’s warming up your house, it’s okay!
BBG is the only program I’ve ever been able to stick with, and see results! I’ve been so unmotivated lately, but I’m hoping to start week one again soon (after not working out for months)! Leg day makes it hard to even walk! Haha
I just restarted week one. I’ll probably write about this eventually, but I’ve noticed that it’s important to just keep going through the weeks even if you miss a day or two here and there. I started over a lot of times and it made me feel like a failure, so now I’m just going to power through it!
Baking is so much fun! I always swore I’d never go into cooking, but I have fallen in love with baking at home and just generally being in the kitchen. I love all forms of creativity though, and there’s so much you can do with desserts and sweets!

The weather here in Utah has definitely taken a turn towards fall. I’m usually more for spring and summer weather but I do love fall for other reasons. Winter….I could do without.
I grew up going to a non denominational church and had a really positive experience. Good luck with BBG, I’ve never done it but heard great things!
